Awesome thermal!
Great compact thermal optic. Refresh rate is awesome, resolution is crisp and clear. I love all of the setting and tweaks you can do. The overall dynamic range is quite impressive. I could see all the heat waves from my stove while heating a kettle and still make out the cold water level. The count down timer for the NUC is great and helpful, and the compass is accurate. I love how you can auto the orientation, but the only reason I have it a 4/5 is due to the fact that if you have it flipped, while it looks normal through the screen, if you take a video it's not flipped. So any recording is upside-down. I really hope that issue can be solved with a software update where it checks the orientation of the screen output to match the video recording. Not sure if that is possible. I know it's a minor point but a little annoying. I'm also surprised it came with rechargeable batteries. Nice touch, but as stated in the documentation you can't charge through the USB port on the sidekick. That's only for video exporting. I haven't used a regular 640sidekick, so I can't compare it to the later model.
